De eksterne censorer har følgende grundlæggende opgaver:

For de eksterne censorer gælder, at censor overordnet skal sikre, at der ved udprøvning/eksamination sker en dokumentation af den/de studerendes færdigheder samt af målopfyldelsen for uddannelsen, herunder at: 

• Prøverne samt kravene til indholdet af uddannelsens prøver er i overensstemmelse med målbeskrivelser og øvrige krav fastsat for uddannelsen i uddannelsesbekendtgørelsen, eksamensbekendtgørelserne og studieordninger inkl. kursusbeskrivelser

• Medvirke til og påse, at prøverne gennemføres i overensstemmelse med de gældende regler, herunder i eksamensbekendtgørelserne

• De studerende får en ensartet og korrekt behandling og deres præstationer en pålidelig bedømmelse i overensstemmelse med reglerne for karaktergivning i karakterskalabekendtgørelsen, herunder regler fastsat herom i uddannelsens studieordning og øvrige regler for uddannelsen

• Censor opfylder habilitetskravene

Det er vigtigt at udøve god censorskik, hvilket også indebærer forståelse for at eksamenssituationen forløber på en korrekt måde, også gerne så de studerendes særlige situation (nervøsitet o.lign.) håndteres hensynsfuldt og professionelt.

The external examiners are entrusted with the following fundamental responsibilities:

External examiners are required to ensure that the examination process accurately reflects the student(s) competencies and their attainment of the educational objectives. This includes verifying that:

• The examinations and their content requirements align with the goal descriptions and other stipulations outlined in the educational regulations (Uddannelsesbekendtgørelsen), examination regulations (Eksamensbekendtgørelsen), and the academic regulations of the program, including course descriptions.
• The examinations are conducted in strict adherence to the relevant regulations, including the examination regulations (Eksamensbekendtgørelsen) and the external examiner regulations (Censorbekendtgørelsen).
• External examiners must ensure that students receive equitable and impartial treatment, and that their performances are assessed reliably in accordance with the grading regulations (Karakterskalabekendtgørelsen), as well as the academic regulations of the program and other educational rules.
• External examiners must meet the criteria for impartiality, ensuring that their evaluations are unbiased and objective.

It is imperative to adhere to best practice, which encompass not only the proper conduct of the examination process but also the considerate and professional handling of students’ specific circumstances, such as examination-related anxiety.
